Thanksgiving at Papa and Nana's

We went to South Carolina this year for Thanksgiving to see Papa and Nana.  We had a great time visiting with them, we went to a really cool interactive library and a Christmas play. The play was really cool and we all enjoyed it.  We were also able to see some old friends that live up there too.  It was great seeing Matt and Lindsey and their two boys.

Jackson passed out one day on Papa and Nana's couch.. He's so sweet!

Taylor

YIKES!  Payton decided to personalize Nana's chair... to say I was embarrassed is an understatement!  Tip... incase you didn't know... rubbing alcohol gets ink off leather!  Thank goodness!

Here are pictures from the interactive library... very cool with hands on stuff and free! It's a library!

playing on a light table

Addy hit her head really good before we even got inside the library...  There was a big typewriter set up outside and each letter you could jump to (or at least that's what my kids were doing!) well she missed a letter... hit her head... did I mention it was made out of stone. :(  Poor baby!

We had a great time at Papa and Nana's!

Miley 9 & 10 months

WOW! I am so far behind on my blog.  I have tried posting several times but blogger was telling me I used up all my space ??? I deleted some stuff in order to get more "space."  But I am probably going to have to buy a monthly storage amount or something... anywho...

In the mean time... I gotta catch up!

Miley was crawling and cruising the furniture at 9 months old.  She gets into EVERYTHING!  Miley is very curious and loud... have I said that she was loud before... well that was an understatement!  Girlfriend has a set of lungs on her!

Here are her 9 month pictures... which by the way are next to impossible to get because she won't sit still!  So this is the best I got. :)

Nathan came home from work while I was trying to take these pictures.  I think I screamed "Oh good you're home!  Help me get these pictures!"

Miley 10 months old

Miley took her first step at 10 1/2 months old.  This whole set of pictures... Miley is looking at me like "What you want me to stay still mom!?"

Funny things kids say...

Addison: "Daddy you are old!"

Daddy: "WHAT!"

Addison: "You are old like a Grandfather-clock!"

Addison: "Mommy I want a real phone for Christmas, like a real phone like yours."

Me: "NO!"

Seriously she asked me for a phone!  Um not going to happen until they are driving!

Conner's A-Maizing Acres

Our next field trip with our homeschool group was to Conner's A-maizing Acres!  It's in Hilliard but worth the drive!  I LOVED going to the pumpkin patch in GA.  So I was so excited that Florida had one!  We had a small group for this field trip but not small in fun!  The Watts family came, we had a great time together.

First we saw some animals... these turkeys literally said "gobble, gobble!" I know I'm a city girl... LOL!

                                                                  Jonathan and Joel

The kids loved seeing the animals... everyone except for Taylor and William.  They were scared.  There was a turkey and some chickens walking around... which scared them.

Piggy!

You can't see Taylor in this pic... she's hiding behind Addy.

Addison and Esther

Payton was NOT happy for some reason... not sure why.  She didn't even want to pick out a pumpkin.

Finally got a picture of Taylor.  She would not take a picture for me.

Swimming in corn!  FUN!

                                                                  The kids loved this!

When we got home I changed Jackson's diaper... and a ton of corn fell out!  Later that night I changed him again and there was still 2 corn cornels stuck to his butt!

                                                                           Sweet girls

Taylor really wanted to ride the train but wouldn't go without me... so of course I rode to make her happy... so yes that is me wedged in there with Taylor on my lap and I'm holding Miley! :)  What I wouldn't do for my kids! It really was fun though.

                                                                              Hayride!

Locked Out or Locked In...

The girls and I got locked out or locked in... depends on how you look at it!

If you've been to our house you will understand the room set up... if you haven't I'll do my best to describe it to ya.  We have a room off of the living room, that we have as a playroom and a school room. When the house was built it was suppose to be a porch and then plans changed and they made it to a sunroom/bonus room.  So the door to the outside of the house is a storm door. It locks but not a secure bolt lock.  So the french doors from the living room to the play/school room we lock at night.  But the french doors are always open during the day!  Got that... confused??? oh well it really doesn't matter! LOL!

So... the girls and I were doing school and the baby (thankfully) was crawling around the room with us.  Payton and Jackson had been running around playing.  The next thing I know is Payton says the door is locked...  Huh??? What? No... You can't be serious!  Yes Jackson (or Payton locked the door and closed it)  Jackson was on the inside of the house alone and the girls and I were locked out of the house or we were locked in the play/school room. Depends on how you look at it! LOL!  I knew the garage door was still closed and the other doors were locked.  My heart sank...  I first tried to get Jackson to unlock the door.  He tried but couldn't.  I bribed him with lollipops.  I said, "unlock the door and I'll give you a lollipop!"  That only sent him running to the kitchen... so that didn't work!  I made Taylor stay by the doors to keep Jackson company and I went out the back door and ran to our neighbors house.  They have an extra key just for times like this.  I knocked... No one answered.  I ran back home.  I didn't even know if my phone was in the school room.  Cause Um yeah I never know where my phone is.  Praise the Lord my phone was in the school room thanks to the girls!  They had been playing on it before we started school.  So I called my neighbor she wasn't home but her mother in law was.  She told me where the spare key was.  LONG STORY SHORT... I couldn't find the right key!  So I called Nathan he was in the middle of a job and he couldn't just leave.  He wasn't very close either.  He figured he would be about 20-30 minutes and then he could come... SIGH!  That seemed like an eternity.  My neighbor said she was heading home and could find the key.  I sent the girls to the front door to ring the doorbell and see if Jackson would unlock the front door.  That didn't work.  All of a sudden I thought... the van!  Is it unlocked???? I checked, it was!  So I used the garage door opener and opened the garage door I wasn't sure if the door to the house was bolt locked too or just the bottom lock. (Jackson can undo the bottom lock but not the bolt lock)  I banged on the door and yelled JACKSON, he opened the door immediately!!!  I was so thankful that it wasn't bolt locked!  We were in!!!!!  YAY!!!!

As scary as this was, it could of been so much worse!  First thing... I could see Jackson most of the time.  He mainly stayed in the living room.  He did a few dances for us and ran to the kitchen or the back of the house.  I couldn't see him then and that scared me, because this boy gets into everything!  Second thing... I actually had my phone in the school room!  That just doesn't happen!  Third thing... The van was unlocked so I could get the garage door opener. Fourth thing... the garage door to the house was only locked with the bottom lock and Jackson could open that!
