Locked Out or Locked In...

The girls and I got locked out or locked in... depends on how you look at it!

If you've been to our house you will understand the room set up... if you haven't I'll do my best to describe it to ya.  We have a room off of the living room, that we have as a playroom and a school room. When the house was built it was suppose to be a porch and then plans changed and they made it to a sunroom/bonus room.  So the door to the outside of the house is a storm door. It locks but not a secure bolt lock.  So the french doors from the living room to the play/school room we lock at night.  But the french doors are always open during the day!  Got that... confused??? oh well it really doesn't matter! LOL!

So... the girls and I were doing school and the baby (thankfully) was crawling around the room with us.  Payton and Jackson had been running around playing.  The next thing I know is Payton says the door is locked...  Huh??? What? No... You can't be serious!  Yes Jackson (or Payton locked the door and closed it)  Jackson was on the inside of the house alone and the girls and I were locked out of the house or we were locked in the play/school room. Depends on how you look at it! LOL!  I knew the garage door was still closed and the other doors were locked.  My heart sank...  I first tried to get Jackson to unlock the door.  He tried but couldn't.  I bribed him with lollipops.  I said, "unlock the door and I'll give you a lollipop!"  That only sent him running to the kitchen... so that didn't work!  I made Taylor stay by the doors to keep Jackson company and I went out the back door and ran to our neighbors house.  They have an extra key just for times like this.  I knocked... No one answered.  I ran back home.  I didn't even know if my phone was in the school room.  Cause Um yeah I never know where my phone is.  Praise the Lord my phone was in the school room thanks to the girls!  They had been playing on it before we started school.  So I called my neighbor she wasn't home but her mother in law was.  She told me where the spare key was.  LONG STORY SHORT... I couldn't find the right key!  So I called Nathan he was in the middle of a job and he couldn't just leave.  He wasn't very close either.  He figured he would be about 20-30 minutes and then he could come... SIGH!  That seemed like an eternity.  My neighbor said she was heading home and could find the key.  I sent the girls to the front door to ring the doorbell and see if Jackson would unlock the front door.  That didn't work.  All of a sudden I thought... the van!  Is it unlocked???? I checked, it was!  So I used the garage door opener and opened the garage door I wasn't sure if the door to the house was bolt locked too or just the bottom lock. (Jackson can undo the bottom lock but not the bolt lock)  I banged on the door and yelled JACKSON, he opened the door immediately!!!  I was so thankful that it wasn't bolt locked!  We were in!!!!!  YAY!!!!

As scary as this was, it could of been so much worse!  First thing... I could see Jackson most of the time.  He mainly stayed in the living room.  He did a few dances for us and ran to the kitchen or the back of the house.  I couldn't see him then and that scared me, because this boy gets into everything!  Second thing... I actually had my phone in the school room!  That just doesn't happen!  Third thing... The van was unlocked so I could get the garage door opener. Fourth thing... the garage door to the house was only locked with the bottom lock and Jackson could open that!
