A week before Logan was born I was admitted to the hospital for low fluid. I had an ultrasound at 36 weeks to check fluid levels, and sure enough they were really low! I had to stay over night for IV fluids. An ultrasound the next morning showed fluid levels were up and I was able to go home.
The following week at my check up I was suppose to have another ultrasound. The OB that I saw that day thought I was fine and didn't need the ultrasound since the fluid levels went up a great deal the week before... I was nervous and told her so, she just reassured me that I would be fine. The Dr left the room and I prayed! I didn't want to make a big deal about it but I wanted that ultrasound for peace of mind. As soon as I opened the door to leave the room I was in, my (favorite) OB and the one who saw me the week before in the hospital, was standing right there when I walked out of the room. She said to me "you going for your ultrasound?" I said the dr told me I didn't need it. She looked puzzled walked over to her and came back to me and said you are getting that ultrasound. So my fav Dr took care of it for me! :) I was so relieved! The ultrasound showed that fluid was low again. (I'm so thankful to God for taking care of me!) Since I was 37 weeks the doctors felt it was safe to have the baby instead of another night of fluids. So onto the induction we went! I was able to go home and get things in order. The induction didn't start until 7:45 pm... I knew a long night ahead!
Logan's delivery was really fast. I said to Nathan I think you need to call the nurse. Nathan's response was, "are you sure!?" Ummm yes I'm sure! :) Nathan later told me he didn't think I was anywhere close to having the baby because I hadn't been showing any signs of pain at all.
The nurse got there just in time to catch the baby! She had called for the doctor and was telling me not to push! Umm yeah I don't think so. I remember thinking to myself... you will do just fine! Just delivery the baby! While my nurse was holding the baby and she literally couldn't move, other nurses showed up and said "did you call time?" My nurse said I just caught a baby! Does it look like I could call time! LOL! It was probably a good 10 minutes before my doctor showed up... I so could not of held him in for 10 minutes! HELLO! So Logan was laying on the bed and kind of on my leg until the doctor got there. I couldn't see him. One of the other nurses that came referred to Logan as "she". I said "WHAT!?" He's suppose to be a boy. She said, "Oh yeah... he is, Sorry!" Phew! LOL!
So Logan made his grand entrance at 3:21 am (that was the time that they called after he was born) weighing 6 lbs 2 oz. I had a very easy recovery. Which I am very thankful for.
Logan had a hard time maintaining his body temp for a while after he was born. Which is normal since he was born at 37 weeks. He had to stay on the warmer for a couple of hours. After that he was just fine!
