Addison's 6th Birthday

Our Sweet Pea turned 6!  Addison also wanted a slumber party and invited her friend from church, Esther.  I love setting out their baby pictures on their birthdays.

Addison wanted me to make her a cake for her dessert and she chose pizza for her birthday dinner.

I set up a little craft area for the girls to decorate foam crowns and wands.

The girls playing musical chairs.

Addison got her (new) favorite princess dress, Tiana.

Gramma came over right before we were ready for the cake.  Here are the presents from Gramma.

Girls are ready for the movie!

Addison finally decided on what she wanted to do for her birthday activity.  (she changes her mind frequently)  we went to the movies Sunday after church.  We saw Monsters University.  We had so much fun for Addison's birthday.  I am so thankful for her spunky sweet self!

Life's A Party

The girls were so cute one day and set up a "Family Celebration Party" as they called it.  They took the packing paper that came in the box of the homeschool curriculum and made a banner out of it and hung it up in there room.  They also decorated with boas and ribbon.  They had the whole party planned our first they had dancing to the Beauty and the Beast song and then it was a fun game of Candy Land!

Homeschool 2013-2014

Wow! We have had a fun filled summer.  The time off from school flew by!  I planned on us doing school at least 2 days a week during the summer... but honestly we have been so busy.  So we are about to get back on to our schooling schedule (that is until the baby is born we'll probably take 2 weeks off)  I chose to continue with My Father's World.

Our new curriculum came in.  The Second Grade - Adventures in US History and the reproducible sheets for 1st grade and Kindergarten.

Addison is excited to start the 1st grade!

Payton is excited to start Kindergarten!

Last January we moved our school room from the back playroom to the room off our kitchen (that was my craft room and Nathan's guitar room.)  So now it's our School room and my craft stuff is in there.  This set up has worked out so much better for us.  School stuff and toys did not mix well and the room stayed messy and drove me nuts!

I still have a lot to do like painting and the finishing touches... It will get there one day.

Our School Room

We have this great window seat to use as a reading nook.  This year Taylor's curriculum has a book basket to have set up to help with independent reading. So this area will come in handy.

Messy side of the room :)  my craft supplies and our school supplies.  That dresser is full of fun manipulatives and craft items for the kids.

We painted chalkboard paint on the wall for our chalk board.  (still need to add trim around it) And our bookshelves.

Our simple calendar.  This will be our 4th year homeschooling and I've learned to keep it simple!  That works so much better for me!

This room is right off the kitchen and is great when we have parties to have this extra table.

Now to get our learn on! :)

And this room will never be this clean again.

Taylor's 7th Birthday

This year we are keeping birthdays low key.  We had a big family vacation in April so birthdays are at a minimum.  We told the girls they could choose an activity to do and invite a friend.  Taylor really wanted a sleep over and we invited her friend from church Esther.  My niece Lily also joined us since Papa and Nana were in town.

Taylor woke up to a few birthday surprises one of which was her own finger nail polish.  They girls probably painted their nails 10 times that day.  They had a blast!

We also had a princess tea party

Taylor really wanted to go back to St Mary's Aquatic Center.  The forecast called for rain all day so we came up with plan B to Chuck E Cheese.

Taylor's birthday was a lot of fun and special.
